Beauty Isn't Always About Changing Your Appearance
There are days when you look in the mirror and just don't feel particularly attractive, and that's completely normal. Sometimes your hair won't cooperate, your skin is acting up, or you're simply having one of those days when your confidence isn't where you'd like it to be. You don't need a dramatic makeover to feel a little better about yourself, either.
1. Put On An Outfit You Love
Dig into your closet and find something that consistently makes you feel good when you wear it. It doesn't have to be fancy, expensive, or particularly fashionable, because feeling comfortable and confident matters more than impressing anyone else. Wear whatever makes you happy, even if you plan on not leaving the house.
2. Do Your Hair Differently
There is no need to do your hair and spend an hour getting ready. You could even do a new part or wear it out, or maybe just do your hair how you normally like to. Once you start changing little things about your look, you will feel prettier.
3. Wear Your Favorite Lip Color
Putting on your favorite lip product can make you feel prettier. You don't have to wear your full face of makeup to wear lipstick. There's nothing wrong with wearing it every day, so wear what makes you smile.
4. Take A Break From The Mirror
You will not feel prettier by staring at yourself more. Walk away from the mirror. Put your phone down and focus on something else for a bit. Your appearance doesn't need to be evaluated every few minutes.
5. Put On Some Jewelry
Put on some jewelry. Find earrings that go with your outfit or a necklace. Choose something that matches your personal style rather than worrying about whether it's currently trendy. That little detail can help you feel more put together without requiring much effort.
6. Take A Shower And Start Fresh
When you're feeling blah, a shower can give you a chance to reset without turning the experience into a beauty project. It can make you feel refreshed, and you don't have to go overboard. Just wash your hair and body and put on some clean clothes. You will definitely feel nicer afterward.

7. Moisturize Your Skin
Take some time to moisturize your skin. When you're focusing on your skin, it can make you feel relaxed. You don't have to look at yourself and try to make every flaw disappear. Just moisturize.
8. Take A Few Photos Just For Yourself
If you normally avoid photographs when you don't feel attractive, try taking a few without worrying about posting them. Change your expression and clothes. Play around with it until you find something you like. You may realize you look great.
9. Clean Up Your Brows
If you like to do your brows, spend a few minutes doing them. You don't have to get them shaped, just take your brow brush and fluff them out. You will feel prettier.

10. Wear A Fragrance You Enjoy
Spritz on a perfume, body mist, or other scent that makes you feel good. It's a simple thing that will make you smell good and feel pretty. Since you can't see your perfume, you can just enjoy it. Pick something that makes you feel fresh and confident whenever you catch a hint of it throughout the day.
11. Get Outside For A Little While
Go outside for a little bit. Whether you decide to walk around your neighborhood or just sit outside with a drink, it's nice to step away from your bedroom mirror or social media and clear your mind.
12. Stop Looking At Comparison Content
Social media can make an ordinary bad-confidence day considerably worse when you're constantly seeing carefully selected photos of other people. All those pictures of others will only make you feel worse. Either stop using it or close the app for the day.
13. Paint Your Nails
Pick a color you enjoy and give yourself a simple at-home manicure. It doesn't have to be perfectly polished, because the process itself can be a relaxing little activity. Every time you glance down afterward, you'll have a small detail that feels deliberately chosen.
14. Put On A Pair Of Shoes You Love
Sometimes the easiest way to change how you feel in an outfit is to change what's on your feet. Find a pair of shoes and create an outfit around them. You may feel cuter than if you found new clothes.
15. Tidy Your Personal Space
A messy room can make an already irritating day feel even more chaotic. Spend ten or fifteen minutes putting away clothes, clearing your desk, or changing your bedding. Having a cleaner space around you can make it easier to relax and stop fixating on how you look.
16. Do Something You're Good At
Spend time on what you know you're good at. You could cook or do any hobby you have. Feeling confident in something can help you feel confident in your looks.
17. Call Someone Who Makes You Laugh
Find someone who makes you laugh and talk to them. You don't necessarily need to tell them that you're having an insecure day, because sometimes an ordinary conversation is exactly what you need. A good laugh can shift your attention away from picking apart your appearance.
18. Give Yourself A Compliment
Find something you like about yourself. You don't have to feel beautiful all over; you can just find one thing. You might like your eyes or personality. It might feel awkward at first, but you don't have to believe you're perfect to acknowledge something you appreciate.
19. Get Enough Sleep
Being exhausted can make almost everything feel worse, including the way you perceive yourself. If you've been running on too little sleep, consider making an earlier bedtime the only beauty routine you need that evening. Try sleeping earlier that night and see how you feel in the morning.
20. Remember That You Don't Have To Feel Beautiful
Some days you will feel pretty, and some you won't, and that's okay. You can have messy hair, tired eyes, imperfect skin, and absolutely no interest in putting on makeup without needing to fix yourself. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is stop demanding that you look beautiful and let yourself simply exist as you are.
