Another One to the Pile
Somehow, there's never enough in your beauty kit. Whether it's a new mascara or your favorite tinted lip balm in a different shade, there's always something else you just have to get your hands on. Perhaps it's all the glitter or the cute packaging—either way, you're drawn like a moth to a flame. If you’ve ever wondered how you ended up owning five versions of essentially the same thing, well, at least you're not alone.
1. Lip Balms
Got a work lip balm? Let us guess: you probably have a home lip balm, too, and a purse lip balm. In other words, you're carrying around at least 10 different flavors, tints, and formulas on you at all times, all because, well, you can't help it.
2. Lipsticks
You might have 20 different lip balms, but lipsticks are a whole different matter. Even if it's just a slightly different shade of pink or nude, you're always easily convinced when you’re already standing at the checkout. Before long, you may have an entire collection containing a lot of similar colors.
3. Perfume Samples
Those tiny perfume vials you get whenever you purchase makeup or skincare? You've got dozens upon dozens of them. Even if they're not technically a scent you enjoy, you still keep all of them in a dedicated drawer—you never know if they might come in handy later.

4. Eyeshadow Palettes
Other people might think all your eyeshadow palettes look the same, but they just don't understand. The neutrals and pinks and shimmers are all slightly different! Or, at least, that's what you tell yourself. But when new palettes come in packaging that’s difficult to resist, who are you to say no?
5. Nail Polish
You've got 20 bottles of polish that you barely touch anymore, but as soon as there's another seasonal shade in stock, you're getting your hands on it. Like lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes, you probably also have more than a few that are nearly identical in color.
6. Sheet Masks
Whether because they’re individually packaged or contain different ingredients marketed for different skincare concerns, it's no surprise that people also love hoarding sheet masks. In reality, though, they may really only use one once in a blue moon despite their huge stash.
7. Makeup Brushes
Just take a look at all your eyeshadow brushes. How many of them do you really use? You probably don’t need all 10 of them, that's for sure. Not only that, but chances are you also tend to keep older brushes lying around even after you've upgraded to better ones.
8. Mascara
There's technically no perfect mascara out there, yet that clearly hasn't stopped you from snatching up whatever new formula hits the shelves. One promises more volume, another focuses on length, and waterproof versions seem just useful enough to keep around in case you ever need them.
9. Blush
You might stick to powder blushes, but that's not stopping you from hoarding blush sticks and tints and creams! It's not just the formula that catches your eye, either—the different peach, coral, and mauve tones always keep you coming back, too.
10. Hand Cream
Like lip balms, you might have a purse hand cream, a car hand cream, a bedside hand cream... You get the point. The point is that you can't just have one, especially not when different scents make them worth buying. And hey, they keep your hands soft, so win-win, right?
11. Hair Ties
No matter how many hair ties you buy, it's still somehow never enough. That's not even counting all the scrunchies you own! You've got an excuse, though: since they tend to stretch out so easily, you've got to have backups. That's why you have enough supplies to open a small factory (but it's still not enough).
12. Foundations
Finding the perfect foundation can involve a considerable amount of trial and error. But because it's not cheap, you'll keep the bottle even if it's not technically your shade or favorite formula. Those almost-right options often remain in your vanity even as you continue your search for that perfect one.
13. Eyeliners
Black eyeliner might be black eyeliner, regardless of the brand, but that's not stopping you from getting different varieties, from pencil to gel, liquid to felt-tip. Plus, what if you want to do a more colorful look? You gotta get a yellow, red, and orange, too...
14. Face Serums
It doesn't matter if you can't pronounce the ingredients; if the design is cute, you're getting it. Your skin can probably benefit from having several bottles that target different things, anyway, from brightening to improving the appearance of wrinkles, so you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't buy them, right?
15. Mini Beauty Products
Those minis might not be worth the money, but you technically could use them for travel. Problem is, you rarely pack them when you're on the go, meaning they spend far more time sitting in drawers than following you anywhere. At least they're cute to look at?
16. Highlighters
Yeah, yeah, you have 10 highlighters that look the same, but so what? They have different shimmers! Some of them are two-toned! They all vary enough to earn a spot in your beauty drawer. Since you only need a small amount every time, though, that also leaves plenty of time for several more to join the collection...
17. Dry Shampoo
What else are you going to use if you don't want to wash your hair? Obviously, you're going to hoard dry shampoo, even if your current can is still half full. Plus, different formulas do different things, and that just encourages you to experiment even more.

18. Face Cleansers
Sure, you have several cleansers sitting on your bathroom shelf, but you prefer to think of them all as skincare experiments that didn’t work out as planned. That doesn't mean you'll throw any of them out, though! Most of them are still full, so you'll come back to them later. Someday.
19. Makeup Bags
Since you have (ahem) many duplicates of the same thing, one makeup pouch just isn't enough. So, naturally, you've bought more bags, and more to store all the new things you've bought. Soon enough, you’ve got a whole collection of them lying around.
20. Free Beauty Samples
Nothing is better than a product that costs nothing. Even if you rarely use them, you love collecting those tiny foil packets and miniature tubes. But then you get more samples, and more. And then it's only much later that you realize you have an entire drawer of them. Oops.
