1. A College Fraternity or Sorority Tattoo
Your fraternity or sorority is practically your entire social world at 20—heavy emphasis on the 20. Once college is behind you, a giant set of letters really only represents four years of your life. Someone who loved being a Sigma Chi or Delta Gamma might not care down the line.
2. Your First Car
No one talks about it enough, but a first car can inspire an impressive amount of loyalty! That said, tattooing a Honda Civic badge gets harder to justify after you've owned six other cars. You can keep a wonderful memory without having a permanent tribute on your arm.
3. Your Teenage Nickname
A nickname such as “Big Mike,” “Princess,” or “T-Rex” can follow you everywhere in high school. Sometimes, they’re so prominent that they seem worthy of permanent recognition. Well, fast-forward 30 years, and you may find yourself explaining a joke nobody in your current life was around to understand.
4. Your Old Gamer Tag
Getting your online username tattooed can seem smart when you've used the same handle for years. Unfortunately, something like “xXShadowKiller92Xx” doesn't hit quite as hard when you're 55.
