Do You Do This?
Beauty and style are subjective, and every woman has her own unique taste and aesthetic. However, sometimes in an attempt to look trendy or edgy, some beauty and fashion looks just fall flat in the eyes of the beholder. It might feel like men don’t notice, but sometimes they do. At the end of the day, women are free to do what they want and dress how they please, but with that in mind, here are 20 fashion mistakes some men have pointed out.
1. Shaving Eyebrows
Eyebrows frame the face and define one's expression. For that reason, many women decide to change their shape completely by shaving them off and re-drawing them. It's an extreme makeup statement that tends to be influenced by social media tutorials. Some men find it hard to believe or less natural.
2. Too Tight
Wearing clothes that are too tight is one of the most common fashion sins. Clothing sizes can vary so much from brand to brand that what fits one person might not fit another, and vice versa. While some women may opt for tighter clothes because they think it will be more flattering, this can end up being more uncomfortable when you are trying to move around and draw more attention to certain areas that you may not want to.
3. Leopard Prints
Leopard print can be fierce, fun, and empowering; it's a pattern that we never really seem to get sick of. The only problem is when it's overdone. Mixing it subtly with solids can really help it look effortlessly chic; otherwise, it can come off a bit intimidating.
4. Fake Tans
Who doesn't love a healthy sun-kissed glow? That's why self-tans are such a hot beauty trend. But when it gets too orange or patchy, it can steal the show from your natural beauty. Most guys admit it's just a matter of them preferring the look to be more natural and low-maintenance.
5. Long Nails
Long nails are glamorous and expressive, but when they become excessively long, they can become cumbersome and even frightening. This aesthetic has been popularized in the nail art culture and by many celebrities. Nail art in general, and long nails specifically, are an outlet for creativity and individuality.
6. Too High Heels
High heels add elegance and confidence instantly, but when they're too tall for walking comfortably, it has the opposite effect. Women wear them for many reasons because they look amazing and elongate the legs, but wobbling around to maintain balance can make anyone self-conscious. Men are more likely to notice the discomfort rather than the height of the heel.
7. Clothing They’re Uncomfortable In
Confidence is the prettiest thing on a person, and it's hard to feel confident when you're fidgeting in what you're wearing. Fashion trends can lean towards revealing clothing, but if it doesn't feel right, it will translate into your body language. If you feel self-conscious and out of place in your outfit, it might show, and most men would prefer you just be comfortable.
8. Too Many Piercings
Women who sport body piercings do it for fashion, and most of them are stunning. But there are times when men are a little confused by the big display of piercings, not because they are judging them, but because they have never been exposed to that type of fashion. These piercings are mostly connected with art, fashion, and music, where anything goes.
9. Mixing Styles
Sporty and dressy fashion can come together in an edgy, modern way, but it's also just as easy to put the two together haphazardly. High heels and sweatpants, or a hoodie, can be sending mixed signals on the fashion front without really turning heads in a positive way. It's a thing, though, because it's comfortable, expressive, and popular.
10. Huge Sunglasses
Fashionably large sunglasses can be glamorous and mysterious. They're a classic style accessory for many women. The only problem is when they're so big they cover half the face, making it hard to see expressions.
Men especially like when they can see your eyes and smile.
11. Super Dark Eyeshadows
Smoky eyes can be beautiful, but if applied too heavily or in too dark a color, it can unintentionally conceal your natural beauty rather than enhance it. Many women love this look because they think it is dramatic and powerful. Some men, however, prefer softer and natural makeup looks.
12. Bold Lipstick That Doesn’t Suit Them
A strong lip is a game-changer, but some colors look lackluster against certain complexions. It's an easy error to make: lighting, store displays, and even fads can make a shade look flawless until you go to wear it. Guys will often notice when a lipstick feels too strong for the rest of the look, not for the color alone, but because it distracts from your natural features.
13. Too Trendy
Let's face it: trends are easy to follow. We all get sucked in every once in a while. However, not all of today's hottest fashion trends are flattering for all body types, or even our comfort level. I see many women dressing in styles and fashions that are "in" but not necessarily true to their best assets, and it makes them feel self-conscious.
14. Lip Filler
Full lips have always been an aesthetic ideal, and lip fillers are one of the most popular procedures, thanks in part to K-Beauty influencers and A-list celebrities.
But overdone fillers can appear unnaturally plump and distracting from your other features. Guys say they just like a symmetrical, expressive face where everything is in proportion.
15. Too Much Makeup
Makeup is one of the most expressive tools we have, and women love to play with it. The problem arises when all these products start to cover you up rather than enhance you. Men love a natural glow and being able to see a woman's expressions, and these get lost under a thick coat of makeup.
16. Huge Nose Piercings
Nose piercings can be edgy, stylish, and a strong form of self-expression. But big septum rings or other oversized jewelry can sometimes upstage your face. It might throw some men off, but certain ones will love it.

17. Oversized Things
Baggy sweaters, jackets, and accessories can appear effortlessly cool and comfy. However, when they engulf your body shape, they may also conceal your self-assurance. Guys often admit to favoring clothes that don’t hide their form entirely.
18. Too Many Accessories
Accessories can take any look to the next level, whether a necklace, bracelet, or a great pair of earrings can pull an entire outfit together. However, if too many are worn at one time, they often fight for attention instead of accentuating a look. Many women do this because they love each piece and don't want to pick.
19. Too Many Brands
Designer labels are fun and can make you feel glamorous, but when too many logos compete with one another, they can start to look like a statement of the label rather than the look. Many women love to mix high-end pieces to show their success and style, and of course, there is nothing wrong with that. But many men have admitted to us that they notice style and confidence more than brand names.
20. Same Face Syndrome
Trends can be so powerful that sometimes it feels like everyone starts to look the same, like the same makeup, hair, and even facial treatments. It’s normal to feel like we should be following the trends and emulating the ‘ideal’ versions of ourselves that are so common on social media. But men often say that they are most attracted to unique qualities and individual traits.
