Whether you’re up-to-date on trends or aren’t even sure what counts as fashionable, here are some habits that everyone’s sick and tired of. These looks, whether shopping choices, hairstyles, or makeup looks, tend to come across as silly and impractical. Which of these trends do you hate, and did we miss any you can’t stand?
1. Fast Fashion
Fast fashion usually involves buying clothes that are cheap and a bit low quality, only to switch them out next season. These clothes aren’t meant to last and can lead to lots of people hoarding and throwing away unnecessary amounts of clothes. Lots of people see this as a waste of resources, preferring the day when you’d buy a few trusty pieces that last.
2. Microscopic Luxury Bags
Lots of people save up to buy that perfect luxury bag, and it can be quite an accomplishment in itself. But paying over $500 for a bag so tiny you can’t even fit your phone in it is a bit much. They’re all show and no function, making them quite impractical.
3. Cowboy Wannabes
This is a common one in Texas, but it essentially involves people taking on the cowboy aesthetic despite having no part in the lifestyle. Lots of people see it as them taking pride in hard work that they themselves don’t do. This can apply to things like cowboy boots, hats, and jackets.
4. The Broccoli Hairstyle
This hairstyle garnered a lot of popularity on TikTok and is one you’ll see teenage boys wearing. It feels like a trend everyone is getting on board with, making unique hairstyles more of a rare thing. Plus, it’s a bit silly looking and is seen as a way to garner internet points online.
5. Beige Everything
This doesn’t only apply to clothes, but often affects house décor as well. Usually, you’ll see pictures on Instagram of homes that are loaded with beige colors and sepia accents. The parents who prefer this color scheme also apply it to their kids' clothes and toys, which may be taking it a bit too far.
6. Matching Fruit Sets
You might have seen guys wearing shorts and shirts with a matching fruit print. While the fruit ranges, pineapple in particular, is quite popular. Some refer to this as a music festival outfit, but it does look a bit silly.
7. Logos Upon Logos
Wearing things for the sake of logos comes across as tacky. Like buying shirts and sweaters that just have the brand name printed out in bold. People often spend hundreds of dollars just to be a walking advertisement.

A lot of people, especially influencers online, tend to wear the exact same makeup. Makeup was always meant to be a way to express yourself artistically, and now everyone is suffering from same-face syndrome. If they can’t achieve this look with makeup, many turn to filters instead.
9. Lip Filler
Invasive cosmetic procedures like lip fillers can be a bit much too. There are lots of natural ways to achieve fuller lips, including makeup tricks and devices that can temporarily puff them up. Older generations might remember when thin lips were in, which serves as a reminder that these trends always flip back and forth.
10. Cut-Outs Everywhere
While a cut-out can be fun and fashionable, its overuse in everything is annoying. Nowadays, it’s hard to buy a dress without having to deal with a cut-out on the sides or stomach. This applies to the overabundance of crop tops as well.
11. Long Fake Lashes
Some subtle fake lashes can be quite a confidence booster, and if you really want a fuller look, you can get some fake ones. But when they’re outrageously long and look so out of place, it can come across as a bit silly. In fact, some people go so far that they can’t even open their eyes fully anymore.
12. The Mullet
The mullet is officially back and pretty popular nowadays. Whether you love it or hate it, it’s clear to see that this unkempt and trendy style is abundant as ever. Still, some people dislike it because it looks absurd, but plenty of people still like it.
13. Bike Shorts With Heels
This is a common and rather comical combination. It involves the super-tight, fitness-centric bike shorts paired with impractical heels. If you really are out there biking in heels, then more power to you.
14. Overpriced Torn Clothes
Isn’t it funny how jeans cost one thing, then a pair of jeans with holes in them cost even more? There’s a trend to tear up clothes and upsell them all in the name of fashion. Covering up seems harder than ever these days.
15. Fila Shoes
These shoes are huge, bulky, and pretty impractical for everyday use. They make people come across cartoonish, and if that’s the goal, they’re certainly succeeding. That being said, while they do look oversized, they are a comfier alternative to high heels.
16. Cropped Everything
Nowadays, it’s pretty hard to find tops and even jackets that aren’t cropped. It seems like all clothes end around the waist, and few go further than the belly button. Even oversized sweaters seem to be shorter than ever.
17. Overpriced Tees
So many simple white T-shirts are priced in the hundreds or thousands just because of names. The whole branding craze is quite taxing on the wallet and can make it difficult to find a good quality shirt without having to pay extra for the name. Plus, when influencers wear certain brands and popularize them, the price for those clothes ends up going up, too.
18. Painted Eyebrows
While this one has started to fade, there was a time when everyone was painting on their eyebrows. Instead of keeping it subtle or natural, they would go in with very dark colors and thick lines. As a joke, some people considered this the Angry Birds look.
19. Overly Ripped Jeans
Ripped jeans are one thing and cropped everything is another. But there’s nothing worse than those jeans that are so torn up that they’re holding on for dear life. At that point, you’re paying a premium on a few inches of fabric.
20. Botox
It’s very common for celebrities to use Botox, thinking it will prevent them from aging. Instead, it makes them look less expressive and sometimes even a bit strange. Botox also doesn’t age well, which is why it may take a few years for the after-effects to show up.
