When it comes to the world of fashion, there are a lot of brands to choose from. Unfortunately, not all fashion retailers are created equally, with plenty of these brands offering cheap fast fashions that will break apart quicker than you’d expect. It may seem like an affordable steal, but in the long run, these are clothes you’ll regret buying.
1. Forever 21
Forever 21 clothes are cheaply made and not at all worth the price you pay. Everything is mass-produced, so the quality is poor. The company doesn't focus on making high-quality clothes. Shoppers complain about clothes that rip or shrink after one wash, as well as items that have missing buttons and come apart.
2. Shein
Shein is known for producing some of the lowest-quality clothing, with many pieces falling apart after only a few wears. Their clothes are poorly constructed, with uneven sizing, cheap material, and seams that easily come undone. While they offer trendy styles at very low prices, Shein promotes a throw-away culture instead of long-lasting quality.
3. Uniqlo
Uniqlo makes clothes that are of unusually low quality for the price. A lot of its clothing is shoddily made and constructed from materials that easily fade, shrink, or rip after just a few wears. This, combined with their unethical working conditions and environmental impact, makes Uniqlo clothing very overpriced.
4. H&M
H&M is widely known for making clothes of low quality that you would only wear a couple of times. Their clothes are cheaply made, the seams fall apart and fade easily, and the materials are not long-lasting. Even their so-called “sustainable” clothing encourages throw-away fashion.
5. Pretty Little Thing
Pretty Little Thing is best known for selling extremely low-quality clothing that tears and falls apart very easily. They also use very cheap materials and production methods, with their garments being full of weak stitching, thin fabrics, and items that will barely last a handful of wears. All of this, along with misleading advertising and an almost complete absence of any real sustainability, makes the brand a poor choice.
6. Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters clothes are made of the cheapest fabrics and are notoriously known for wearing out and tearing quickly. Pieces are poorly made, often with thin material and fragile stitching. Garments that use a lot of embellishments or are made of heavy fabric often fall apart or stop fitting together within a season or two.
7. Victoria's Secret
Victoria's Secret is known for making very low-quality clothing and lingerie that wear out and lose shape easily. Their clothes and bras are often made of cheap, unsustainable materials. Additionally, they’re not well-made, with poor stitching and fabrics that don't last long.
8. Primark
Primark is notorious for its poor-quality clothing. In fact, pieces often disintegrate after minimal wear. Numerous items are poorly constructed, with flimsy materials, weak stitching, and inconsistent sizing.
9. Topshop
Topshop is known for creating low-quality garments that fall apart and wear out quickly after minimal use. Many of their pieces are cheaply made and of weak quality. Additionally, the flimsy fabric and weak stitching can easily rip and offers no durability.
10. Mango
Mango is a brand that makes cheaply made, poor-quality clothing that is not durable and easily becomes out of shape or worn out. A lot of their clothes have cheap construction and materials, with little to no longevity. Their ethical labor standards are non-existent at best, and there is a documented history of failure to assist workers when their factories were deemed unsafe.
11. Temu
Temu is known for its ultra-cheap, often absurdly low-quality clothing that falls apart after just a few wears. The brand has been found to use cheap, toxic fabrics in many of their products, making them both dangerous and disposable. When combined with their known poor labor and transparency standards, Temu is a prime example of ultra-fast fashion at its worst.
12. Zara
Zara is notorious for making cheap, low-quality clothing. Many of their items are poorly constructed, with weak stitching and cheap fabrics that easily fall apart. Clothes often lose their shape after just a few wears.
13. Romwe
Romwe is infamous for ultra-low-quality clothing. Clothes often fall apart after a few wears. Cheap, flimsy materials, bad stitching, and inconsistent sizing are the norm.
14. Nike
Nike makes low-quality clothes and shoes that break and tear easily after you buy them. They overcharge for most of their products but use materials that aren't the best. Most Nike products fall apart quickly because of the cheap materials they use and their poor construction.
15. GUESS
Clothing from GUESS tends to be extremely overpriced for its quality. Low-quality items with weak stitching, flimsy fabric, and short lives are common with the brand. Not to mention their history of unethical supply chains.
16. ASOS
ASOS is known for making very low-quality clothing that often breaks after being worn a few times. A lot of their clothes are also made from cheap synthetic materials, not to mention their poor stitching and durability.
17. Hot Topic
Hot Topic is a purveyor of cheaply made, low-quality clothing that wears out or falls apart in short order. Garments are frequently composed of inexpensive fabrics with weak seams that fall apart. Paired with the complete lack of transparency in their environmental and labor practices, Hot Topic leaves a lot to be desired in the way of lasting value.
18. Fashion Nova
Fashion Nova is all over the place with its innovative designs and affordable price points. However, it’s worth noting the poor quality of their garments, which fall apart after minimal wear. The majority of their clothing is constructed with low-grade synthetic materials that are harmful to the environment.
19. GAP
GAP is infamous for creating low-quality clothing that usually falls apart within a short amount of time and has no durability. A lot of their clothes are cheaply made and mass-produced, made from low-quality material that easily fades, shrinks, or rips after a short amount of use. With their labor malpractices and secrecy about their factories and supply chain, GAP has nothing going for it aside from the low prices.
20. Abercrombie & Fitch
Their clothes often use cheap fabrics and construction. Items can fade, shrink, or tear after just a few wears. Combined with unethical labor, low environmental standards, and opacity, Abercrombie & Fitch provides no lasting value.
